At Action-CS, we’re proud to be at the forefront of integrating advanced technology into construction site security. Our Active Deterrence Units (ADUs), equipped with Hakimo’s AI-powered cameras, are playing a pivotal role in Skanska’s efforts to enhance safety and security on their expansive projects.

One notable deployment is at Skanska’s 4.5-mile-long I-405, Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project in Bothell, Washington. This project presents unique security challenges due to its scale and complexity. To address these, Skanska has implemented a comprehensive AI-driven security system that includes:

  • 24/7 Monitoring: Our ADUs provide continuous surveillance, ensuring that every part of the job site is under watch at all times.
  • AI Detection and Alerts: The integrated Hakimo cameras utilize sophisticated AI algorithms to detect unusual activities and promptly alert Skanska supervisors to potential threats.
  • Proactive Deterrence: The ADUs are equipped with talk-down mechanisms that can issue verbal warnings to unauthorized individuals, effectively deterring potential intrusions.
  • Real-Time Access: Supervisors have immediate access to live feeds via Hakimo’s portal, allowing for swift assessment and response to any incidents.

Ryan Clayton, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Skanska’s West Coast civil operation, emphasized the significance of this technology:

“Being able to protect our operations using the mix of deterrents that are part of Hakimo’s service has allowed us to make security more proactive than ever before.”

This collaboration exemplifies how our ADUs, combined with Hakimo’s AI capabilities, are transforming construction site security. By providing real-time monitoring and proactive deterrence, we’re helping Skanska reduce theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access, ensuring the safety and efficiency of their operations.usa.skanska.com

About the I-405, Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project:

The project aims to expand the dual express toll lane system from south of the I-405/SR 522 interchange to the I-405/SR 527 interchange. Key components include new lanes, direct access ramps, interchange improvements, infrastructure supporting Sound Transit’s Stride Bus Rapid Transit program, and new fish passage culverts. Construction commenced in 2023 and is anticipated to conclude by late 2028.

At Action-CS, we’re committed to delivering innovative security solutions that meet the evolving needs of the construction industry. Our partnership with Skanska demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating AI technology with robust physical deterrents to create safer, more secure job sites.
