Action-CS Technical Guide
Audio Card
A configurable control and communications platform inside the Action-CS Active Deterrence Unit—bringing smarter audio, lighting, automation, live voice, integrations, remote management, and safeguards to every response.
One card. More control over every response.
The Audio Card is an optional ADU upgrade designed for sites that need responses tailored to their environment. It coordinates audio, lighting, automation, communication, and connected systems from one platform while the ADU remains the active deterrence device in the field.
Response capabilities
Configure how the system communicates, escalates, and signals activity at each location.
Smart audio + voice
Create text-to-speech announcements, custom voices, and rotating audio pools for site-specific messaging.
Dynamic lighting
Exterior ADUs support RGB color, 10–100% brightness, duration controls, and heartbeat patterns. Interior ADUs use red and blue LEDs.
SIP live talk-down
Dial in through an IP phone, communicate in real time, and use keypad inputs to activate configured actions.
Custom response rules
Configure triggers, staged timing, delays, escalation, and automated actions around the needs of the site.
Flexible integrations
Connect the ADU response to cameras, analytics, VMS platforms, monitoring workflows, and other site systems.
Live system visibility
Preview cameras, alarms, heartbeat patterns, and real-time rule status while managing a response.
Connection options
The Audio Card is designed for flexible integration with commercial surveillance and site systems.
SIP
Supports IP-phone live talk-down and keypad-triggered actions for direct operator intervention.
MQTT + webhooks
Connect rules and events to other platforms and automate outbound actions, including supported alerts.
API, I/O + ONVIF
Support integration with compatible cameras, VMS platforms, analytics, and site devices.
Available functions depend on the ADU configuration, connected equipment, network design, and third-party platform. Action-CS should confirm compatibility and final system design before deployment.
Remote operations + safeguards
Tools built to keep the response platform manageable, visible, and resilient after installation.
Over-the-air updates
Remotely update compatible Audio Cards and reduce unnecessary on-site service.
Ping watchdog
Detect lost connectivity and automatically power-cycle the Audio Card to help restore service.
Built-in safeguards
Playback limits help prevent runaway activity, while priority override supports critical notifications.
Plan the response before deployment.
Define the desired messages, lighting behavior, live communication workflow, triggers, escalation stages, third-party connections, and operator responsibilities. Action-CS can then confirm the appropriate configuration for the ADU and the site.
ADU model and location, cameras and VMS, analytics or monitoring platform, network availability, desired audio and lighting behavior, live talk-down needs, integration endpoints, and escalation rules.
Build the right response for your site.
