Technical guide · Light Pole Power Kit

Power where the pole already is.

The Action-CS Light Pole Power Kit turns existing light-pole infrastructure into a practical deployment point for cameras, ADUs, wireless links, and other low-voltage security equipment—even while the lighting circuit is off.

Discuss an LPPK deployment

Match the kit to the load.

LPPK configurations are selected around the connected equipment’s continuous power requirement. Action-CS reviews the intended load, pole voltage, network path, and environment before final specification.

12V / 1200W

Standard configuration for continuous connected loads up to 75W.

24V / 2400W

Higher-capacity configuration supporting continuous loads up to 120W.

48V / 4800W

Available for higher-load deployments that exceed the lower-voltage configurations.

Battery-backed operation.

The LPPK captures power when the lighting circuit is energized, then supplies regulated low-voltage power to the connected security equipment when the circuit is off.

Battery100Ah LiFePO4
Typical outage runtimeApproximately 14 hours; actual runtime depends on connected load and operating conditions
Typical recharge timeApproximately 10 hours
Cycle lifeApproximately 2,500 charge cycles
Standard input voltages120VAC, 240VAC, and 277VAC
480V polesRequire an appropriate step-down transformer

Power, network, and protection in one system.

The enclosure supports the equipment needed to extend connectivity and maintain a controlled environment at the pole.

Enclosure optionsNEMA 3R, NEMA 4, and NEMA 12 configurations
Environmental controlThermal management for compatible deployment conditions
Network powerPoE++ switching for compatible connected devices
Wired reachDirect-bury Ethernet runs up to 700 feet when designed for the site
Wireless optionsPoint-to-point wireless and cellular connectivity

Plan the pole before installation.

Electrical service, available mounting space, load, cable routing, communications, and local requirements all affect the final design.

Electrical work

Installation requires a qualified electrician. Pole voltage and circuit behavior must be confirmed before equipment selection.

Load review

Include every connected camera, ADU, radio, switch, heater, and accessory in the continuous-load calculation.

Connectivity plan

Select direct-bury Ethernet, point-to-point wireless, or cellular based on distance, infrastructure, and service needs.

Specification note: Runtime, recharge time, and supported load vary with equipment draw, temperature, circuit schedule, and battery condition. Final system sizing should be confirmed with Action-CS.
