Do I have to use your cameras or cloud system? I just installed X brand cameras.

No, you don’t have to use our cameras or cloud system. As long as your cameras are POE-powered, IP-based, and have Alarm Out, Audio Out, and Audio In capabilities, our Voice Down system is compatible with third-party cameras. No additional programming or firmware is required. Your existing cameras and Video Management System (VMS/NVR) can seamlessly trigger the lights and audio.

How is the system powered?

Each Crime Deterrence System is powered via a single CAT5 or CAT6 cable, utilizing a 90-watt POE++ injector provided by us for seamless installation and operation.

What analytics or AI capabilities can you use?

At Action-CS, the possibilities are virtually limitless. Our systems are designed to seamlessly integrate with various analytics and AI technologies. Operating passively, they wait for signals, listen on the data line, and respond by parsing digital or alarm outputs. Once activated, strobe lights engage, and audio outputs broadcast through our loudspeakers—it's that simple.

Can I communicate with visitors in real time?

Yes, you can speak directly to visitors in real time. Simply press the "Audio Out" button within your mobile app or Video Management System (VMS) to start communication.

What if the site does not have internet access?

No internet? No problem. Action-CS partners with industry leaders to ensure reliable broadband connectivity, no matter the location. What happens if the internet goes down on cloud-hosted systems?

In the event of an internet outage, the cameras are equipped with onboard storage and will continue recording locally for up to two weeks. Once the internet connection is restored, all recorded footage is automatically uploaded to the cloud, ensuring no data is lost.

What happens during a power loss?

In the event of a power outage, the cameras will go offline unless connected to a battery backup system. Once power is restored, the cameras will automatically reboot and reconnect to the cloud within minutes, ensuring minimal disruption.

How do I activate the strobe lights?

Activating the strobe lights is simple. Use your mobile app or Video Management System (VMS) to press the "Digital Out" button. Press the button again to deactivate the lights.

Can the system automatically trigger the strobe lights?

Yes, the system can be configured to activate the strobe lights automatically based on analytics. For example, the lights can be triggered by motion detection or specific events such as loitering, line crossing, and other predefined triggers.

Can the system automatically play a sound file?

Yes, the system can be configured to play a sound file over the loudspeakers automatically when specific events are detected by the analytics. To minimize false alarms, we strongly recommend monitoring and verifying the triggers.

How loud is the system?

The Crime Deterrence System produces 86 dB at 25 feet when mounted 15 feet high, powered by a 60-watt amplified system—plenty loud for most applications. Need more volume? Upgrade to our 180-degree, 100-watt bullhorns for even greater sound coverage.

Who monitors the cameras?

The camera owner has full control and can monitor the cameras and receive email alerts from anywhere. Additionally, owners have the option to partner with our professional monitoring services. These partners provide live monitoring, following the owner’s specific instructions, and can actively deter criminal activity using the Crime Deterrent System.

How long is the video footage stored?

By default, our system records 24/7 and stores footage for 30 days. However, you can customize your storage duration to meet your specific needs. We offer flexible plans to accommodate extended storage requirements.

How easy is it to extract and play back video?

Extracting and playing back video is simple and user-friendly. Just select the start and end points, export a “player file,” and send it. The exported file includes a full-featured playback application that can be opened on any Windows computer—making it convenient for law enforcement and other users.

Are the cameras NDAA compliant?

All cameras provided by Action-CS are fully NDAA compliant, ensuring they meet U.S. government standards for security and reliability.

Can these devices integrate with SIP?

Yes, our system supports SIP integration through an available module.

Is the Action-CS Active Deterrence Unit outdoor-rated and durable?

Yes, our exterior units are designed for outdoor use and durability. They feature an IP34-rated system with cameras and components rated at IP68. The housing is constructed from powder-coated aluminum, offering vandal resistance and long-lasting performance in various environmental conditions.

Am I locked into your cloud service?

No, you are not locked into our cloud service. We offer discounted rates with a one-year commitment to start, but the cameras are yours. You have the flexibility to take your cameras and Crime Deterrence System entirely in-house with your own NVR (available for purchase through us) or transition to another service if you choose.
